Cornwall Air Ambulance is delighted to announce the local business partners who are sponsoring the charity’s new AW169 air ambulance helicopter, which went into operation on the 1st April. It costs nearly £5 million to operate the charity and keep the helicopter flying every year, that’s made possible not only by the support of the public but also through local businesses.

Premium surf and lifestyle brand Ann’s Cottage who sponsored the charity’s previous aircrafts, have renewed their main sponsorship for the new helicopter.

Rob Harris, Managing Director and Owner of Ann’s Cottage, said: “Ann’s Cottage are proud to once again renew our sponsorship with Cornwall Air Ambulance. This is a charity which makes an incredible difference to saving lives, something that I personally have come to feel the benefits of. I am honoured to be involved with such an incredible organisation as it continues to save lives.”

The sponsorships which involve the businesses featuring their logos on the side of the new helicopter, will last for two years.

The charity also welcomes three new sponsors, Cornwall’s leading fire protection company, Fire Crest Fire Protection, media company and existing supplier to the charity, Cornwall Living and rapidly expanding local tea and coffee makers, Cornish Tea & Cornish Coffee.

Tracey Bailey, Business Development at Fire Crest, said: “We heard how much it costs to operate the air ambulance and this caught our attention, with a large number of field based engineers and technicians our team cover Cornwall and the wider South West of England for both fire protection and security services. This means our team are on the road, day and night, 365 days a year. We fortunately have never had to use the Air Ambulance for one of our field-based engineers or technicians, but you never know when you will.”

Stephanie Bray, Cornwall Air Ambulance Corporate Fundraising Officer, said: “Business sponsorship is hugely important for the air ambulance, it provides vital income for operations. We’re so grateful to these companies for joining us in this special way and helping to keep the air ambulance flying and saving lives in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.”
