Cornwall Air Ambulance will be opening its doors for its first ever Blue Light Day this Sunday 24 February.

This unique event will showcase the work of emergency services working across Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. Representatives from Devon & Cornwall Police, Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service, HM Coastguard, RNLI, Cornwall Blood Bikes and others will all be at the event held at the charity’s Newquay airbase.

Gemma Kidd, Events Fundraising Officer, said: “We are really excited to host our first ever Blue Light Day. It’s really a celebration of the work emergency services do here in Cornwall. Visitors can expect demonstrations from several different services and they’ll have the chance to learn more about the work they do to keep our community safe.”

There will also be a pop-up charity shop and plenty of refreshments, as well as a quiz and colouring competition for youngsters.

Entry is free but donations are welcome. Open from 11-3pm.
