Cornwall Air Ambulance is a great charity to partner with your company.
There are different ways in which your company, staff, suppliers and customers can get involved in a support project for Cornwall Air Ambulance. We do not offer standard packages instead preferring to meet with you and carefully design your own bespoke support plan.
This year, Cornwall Air Ambulance looks set to be busier than ever. The fantastic summer weather and exceptional tourism numbers have added to the charity’s workload. In the peak visitor months of July and August 2018, missions increased by nearly 40% compared to the same months in 2017, increasing from 173 to 241.
In 2017 more than 20% of airlifted patients were tourists – that equates to 87 adults and 17 children taking the flight they didn’t plan to take when they visited Cornwall. Despite this, less than 5% of donations to the charity came from the tourism sector – with your help we can change this.

Become a New Heli Appeal Partner
Be part of the next generation! Cornwall Air Ambulance has launched a new appeal to bring a next generation helicopter to Cornwall, an AW169. The AW169 can fly faster, provide 360-degree access to the patient, carry more equipment, has better safety features and more fuel capacity; all factors that will increase the efficiency of the service – saving more lives. It will transform the air ambulance service in Cornwall, and we are inviting local businesses to get involved in bringing this new helicopter to the county.

The people of Cornwall fundraise year on year helping to meet the cost of air ambulance emergency missions.
With an average of 700 missions every year and no government funding towards running costs, the air ambulance relies on support from the local community and its businesses to carry out its life-saving work.

Charity of the Year (COTY)
Having your local air ambulance as your “Charity of the Year” will bring real benefits to your company by boosting staff morale and bringing your employees together to enjoy a variety of fundraising events.
You will be supported by an experienced fundraising team who can guide you at every stage to make the most out of the close partnership. Cornwall Air Ambulance will also support your company with a press release and photo at the end of the partnership.
Fundraising through products/ services (Cause Related Marketing)
Having Cornwall Air Ambulance branding on your company’s product or service with a certain percentage going to the charity can be a great way of fundraising – with some companies passing on the cost to the customer or some taking money out of their marketing budget.
With our marketing support and branding it can also help to increase sales. Many of our partnerships like this are supported by launches in the press and newsletter features.

Challenge events and match funding
Every year Cornwall Air Ambulance organise a series of challenge events, and these are fantastic for local companies to get involved with as they motivate employees and encourage team work. Examples of recent and upcoming events are a Sahara Trek, Cycling in Vietnam, Hike the Himalayas, Three Peaks and Tour De Cornwall. More information on upcoming events can be found here.
Your company could encourage employees to take on these challenges by offering to match fund any money they raise. This is a fantastic way to highlight your philanthropic and supportive business culture to your employees, and it doubles the donations made to the charity, which doubles the work we can do.
Gifts in Kind
Could your company donate something really special for a prize draw or auction? Every year Cornwall Air Ambulance hosts a very popular Summer Ball at their Newquay Airbase, and also run a major prize draw selling in excess of 20,000 tickets annually. Prizes donated for these events are seen by a huge audience and so as well as helping to raise money for the charity, your business will also benefit from great PR opportunities.
The charity also runs several smaller auctions and raffles throughout the year and are always grateful for prize donations.
Donations to Cornwall Air Ambulance’s charity shops are always greatly appreciated as they always need new and exciting stock, whether from your employees or the business surplus stock.
Networking with Cornwall Air Ambulance
FLYING HIGH NETWORKING
Cornwall Air Ambulance are now offering fantastic networking opportunities for the local business community with its Flying High networking events held within the airbase’s helipad viewing rooms.
Each event will include time to network with fellow local businesses, enjoy some refreshments, hear from a guest speaker and take part in a prize draw.

Cornwall Air Ambulance is reliant upon volunteers to help raise the funds it needs and we are always after more – whether that is helping out in our charity shops, volunteering at collections or at events. Volunteering is a great opportunity for team building and raising morale.
Your company could donate your employees’ time to volunteer with Cornwall Air Ambulance.
Did you know that Cornwall Air Ambulance has rooms to hire for your corporate events? The rooms can hold up to 60 people, and they look directly onto the helipad so guests can watch the helicopter and crew as they rush off to a shout. We can also arrange a behind the scenes tour as part of a package to help entice your attendees.
Premium surf and lifestyle retailer Ann’s Cottage has supported Cornwall Air Ambulance for many years, and have sponsored both serving Cornwall Air Ambulance helicopters.
Robert Harris, Owner and Managing Director of Ann’s Cottage, said: “Supporting the Cornwall Air Ambulance has been an absolute pleasure over the years; it’s a charity that really makes an incredible difference saving lives. After my daughter Sophie suffered life threatening injuries in a road traffic accident in 2004 it was the quick response and medical care given to Sophie from the emergency services including the Cornwall Air Ambulance that saved her life. To have the opportunity to sponsor the helicopters for the next 12 months is an absolute honour.”
Morrish Builders and Bradleys Estate Agents have generously agreed to donate £200 to the charity each time a home is sold at the Nansledan development in Newquay. The companies will also be taking part in various fundraising activities to support Cornwall Air Ambulance over the coming year.
