Runway Runaround - Bring It!
Following last year’s fantastic day, we are delighted to announce Runway Runaround is returning to Perranporth Airfield on Saturday October 18th 2025 and we are inviting all runners of all levels to join us and help raise money for Cornwall Air Ambulance.
There will be two runs happening on the day, the first is a 2.5K circuit for children up to 16 years old where we encourage fancy dress. One parent can run with their child at no additional fee as they make their way round the runway in one giant fun run!
Following this there will be a small break before the adults (over 16’s) take to the runway for a 10K loop, fancy dress is optional.
Get involved and help keep your helicopter flying!

Simply fill out the form below…
What is the minimum age to enter an event?
For the 2.5K run children under 11 years old must be accompanied by an adult. The maximum age is 15.
For the 10K adults’ race it is for 16 years old and up.
Will there be First Aid?
Yes. St John’s Ambulance will be onsite should any medical needs to be required.
When do I register for the Adults race if running with my child beforehand?
Adults running with their child in the 2.5K who also plan to run in the 10K are able to check in for both runs at the same time.
Are there toilet facilities?
Yes there are toilets onsite.
Are there changing rooms and storage?
There are no changing facilities onsite or bag storage. We advise leaving kit bags with friends/family watching or in your vehicle. Cornwall Air Ambulance will not be responsible for lost belongings.
Is there parking?
Yes there is parking onsite.
I can’t make the event. Do I get a refund?
Sorry, we don’t offer refunds, please think of your race entry as a donation to the charity.
Can I enter more than one person?
The best way to enter more than one person is to do it in separate transactions so that we accurately capture the details of each runner. If you have already entered more than one person, send us an email at enquries@cornwallairambulancetrust.org with their details and we’ll get it sorted.
When will I receive more information about the event?
You will receive all race information upon completion of your booking.
Is the race timed?
Yes we will have a race clock and chips to record your time. However, this is not mandatory and if you do not wish to be timed that is fine. Most importantly we want people to have fun.
Do we collect our Timing Chip and Race Number on the day of the event?
Yes, that is correct. You will be given this at your point of registration. Please make sure you arrive at least 30 minutes before the race start so you have plenty of time to collect them.
Are there water stations?
Yes there will be water available at the beginning and one station half way round the circuit.
What do I get at the end of the race?
You can help yourself to water and sponsored snack. You will also get a medal.
Where can I find my results after the event?
Live on our website, within the runway runaround event page.
Am I allowed to wear headphones?
We’d advise against it – the nature of the events means that you need to be aware of your surroundings and be able to hear marshal’s instructions, however, we leave this up to you. We hope the atmosphere and live music will help motivate you through the run.
Can it count towards an official running event?
This run has been accurately measured by a certified course measurer.
