CD album

As well as our new shanty style single track ‘Sing it Home’, made up of hundreds of local Cornish performers, there will also be lots of other local artists making up the rest of the album including songs from folk groups The Stowes, Kana, Falmouth Shout, Boscastle Buoys and Barrett’s Privateers, but also a music medley of amazing solo performers such as Tom Cary, Shane Solomon and former patient, Lottie Brown. We’ve also had the support of some bigger community groups on the album which will include the Truro Cathedral Choristers, Kana Kres, InTune Choir and St Dennis Band.

There’s so many different types of music to enjoy.

We think our ‘Sing it Home’ single is something pretty special – and a big thank you also to some amazing community singing groups for being such an important part of the single including the Rox Fox Choir, In Tune Choir,  Torpoint Lady Singers and Newquay Rowing Club Singers. So what are you waiting for – pre register for your album today and help ‘sing home’ our second helicopter.

Lottee Brown

Lottee Brown is a 22-year-old singer/songwriter from Cornwall. Starting her performing career at 14, she immediately made an impact with her blues powerhouse vocals, influenced by the likes of Big Mama Thornton (the now Bessie Smith), Sister Rosetta Tharpe, (the original soul sister) and Janis Joplin. Lottee was subsequently dubbed ‘The New Blue-Eyed Queen of Soul’ by American DJ, Deirdre Gilmartin of WDVR FM Radio.

Red Chevron

The Stowes

The Stowes are a Cornish band who play a stimulating mix of traditional and original songs, rousing sea shanties and scintillating, foot stomping instrumental arrangements of mainly Cornish, Irish and Scottish origin, as well as some American old time influence thrown in for good measure.

Red Chevron

Kana

Kana is a seven-piece female harmony group with a growing collection of self-penned pieces, along with sensitive and skilled arrangements of beloved folk classics. From quiet, reserved harmonies to air-punching shouts, their setlist is designed to captivate audiences from the first song to the last.

Red Chevron

Foresail

Four friends who came together in the last 4 years with a love of performing a wide range of music from traditional shanties to Cornish, folk and songs of the sea. We balance the rambunctiousness of the shanties with more harmonious lyrical songs. Cornwall Air Ambulance Critical Care Paramedic Jeremy is one of the four and we are building on our experience and song lists by performing in pubs and festivals around the South West.

Kana Kres

Milly, Issac, Paige, and Jake are talented young people who just love to make music. They have joined together to form this fabulous quartet, Kana Kres and are wowing audiences throughout Cornwall. Last year they performed in-front of West End star Lucie Jones at a dinner raising funds for Cornwall Air Ambulance.

Tom Cary

Tom is a cutting-edge British Country artist based in Cornwall, voted ‘Country Vocalist of the Year 2022’ by the SME Enterprise Awards and reached iTunes number #1 selling UK country artist. He is also a proud supporter of Cornwall Air Ambulance, having completed his fantastic challenge, cycling from John O’Groats down to the Isles of Scilly and performing a gig every night for 20 nights!

Red Chevron

Shane Solomon

With a passion for Cornwall, Shane wears many hats and when he is not busy filming for Cornwall Channel or bringing celebrities to the county as a Cornwall Ambassador, he can be found behind a microphone singing in the Cornish community.

Truro Cathedral Choristers

The voices of Truro Cathedral Choristers join us on our Sing it Home album. The choir consists of adults and children. Boys are in school years 4 – 8 and the girls are in school years 9 – 13. A beautiful harmony of talented voices on this wonderful track.

St Dennis Band

St Dennis Band is extremely proud of its heritage with early records traced to the mid 19th Century. Believed to have been formed in 1838 as part of the festivities in connection with the Coronation of Queen Victoria, it has continued to function by voluntary contributions up to the present time. Today we celebrate their musical talents with a track on our Sing it Home album.

Red Chevron

inTune

Red Chevron

The Oggymen

Cornish folk singers with their hearts deeply rooted in the heritage and tradition of expressing their loves, beliefs, hopes and fears through music. Their music charts the history of Cornwall’s Methodist past, the hardships of life as a tin miner, the peril of those at sea, or the lament of the cousin jack, longing for family and familiarity whilst working a long way from home. Growing up in Falmouth was an inspiration as their fathers sung in male voice choirs, friends sung after working boat races and gig rowing. They strive to do their part to stop the music, songs and culture from being lost forever. You’ll find The Oggymen singing in pubs, alongside harbours and at Cornish folk festivals.
Red Chevron

Red Chevron

Newquay Rowing Club Singers

Originally formed in the 1970’s from a nucleus of pilot gig rowers and their supporters who sang in the Sailor’s Arms and, later, Newquay Rowing Club after races, the singers are a group of friends who enjoy a pint and a song. Often mistaken for a choir, they make no claim of technical accuracy and, whilst endeavouring to make a decent noise, refuse to take themselves too seriously. Tradition and community bond the group together to sing local shanties and folk songs.

Cornwall Air Ambulance

Cornwall Air Ambulance has ventured into the areas of music production before.

Featured on our new album are two tracks never previously released; the first called ‘Blades in the Sky’ which was written by BAFTA Award winner, Ben Bartlett and performed by many community group choirs before the Covid pandemic. The song was used on our Christmas animation ‘Help Holly’ in 2022 which won a number of charity awards.

The second song ‘Thank you for Christmas’ is a beautiful emotive track which was written by the team at Cube Recording Studios for our Christmas campaign last year.
