Do you have a few hours spare each week to volunteer with your local lifesaving charity this new year? We would love for you to join the Cornwall Air Ambulance team as part of our Groundcrew.
Our six shops, based in Newquay, Wadebridge, Bodmin, St Austell, Camborne and Helston, are a hive of activity and provide opportunities for all ages right across Cornwall.
We are looking for people to help with roles such as till operators, sorting clothes, sorting books, PAT testers, merchandisers, helping with furniture, and dressing shop windows.
Not only will you be helping a local lifesaving cause, but you will also be able to meet new people, decide on flexible hours to suit you, enhance your CV and gain experience in a variety of roles.
Karolyn, who has been part of the Cornwall Air Ambulance Groundcrew for seven years, said: “My granddaughter was airlifted, and the crew got her to Derriford Hospital and into the operating theatre so fast. Helping out is my way of saying thank for what they’ve done.”
In 2024, Cornwall Air Ambulance volunteers donated over a thousand hours of their time to help our lifesaving mission.
Jackie Eastwood, Volunteer Manager, said: “The Groundcrew play an instrumental part in our lifesaving service, as without their time and dedication we would not be able to raise the funds needed to keep your helicopter flying. If you’re looking for a way to give back to your community this new year, helping in our shops is a great opportunity to broaden your skillset, meet new friends, have some fun and gain retail experience. We would love to have you on board!”
