A former patient who was attended by Cornwall Air Ambulance when she was a baby has dedicated a song to the crew who helped to save her life.
Lottee Brown, a 23-year-old singer from St Ives, has written a track called ‘Thank You’ which features on the charity’s new ‘Sing it Home’ album.
Following a very traumatic start to life, where she technically died seven times at birth, Lottee has always battled with health conditions. When she was only a few months old she suffered a febrile convulsion, which caused her eyes to start to roll, she stopped breathing, and she turned blue.
Cornwall Air Ambulance was tasked to the scene and landed in the field next door. The crew were able to resuscitate Lottee and administer medication, stabilising her condition so she could be conveyed to the Royal Cornwall Hospital by land ambulance.
Mum Victoria Williams said: “It was terrifying, but as soon as they came in, I had this sense of relief. I could start crying, even talking about it 23 years later it’s still quite emotional. It was that sense of relief that somebody was there to make her better.”

Despite suffering from regular convulsions as a child, Lottee is doing remarkably well and still attends hospital check-ups.
She said: “I feel relief to be here, I think it will stay with me for the rest of my life what Cornwall Air Ambulance did, I will aways be grateful to them and will continue to raise money for the charity.”
Lottee is one of many local Cornish artists who now features on the charity’s ‘Sing it Home’ album, which is all about bringing the community together to help raise the money needed for a second lifesaving helicopter.
Lottee added: “I co-wrote ‘Thank You’ with two other people, and the song itself is very universal, it’s saying thank you to the air ambulance and what they have done for me, but I also think it’s very relatable. It’s amazing to have the song on the album and the fact that it has charted is crazy, and I’m so happy to be a part of that.”
