Her Majesty The Queen to remain as Patron of Cornwall Air Ambulance

We are delighted to confirm that Her Majesty The Queen is to retain the Patronage of Cornwall Air Ambulance Trust.

Buckingham Palace has carried out a review of the Patronages of The late Queen, The former Prince of Wales and The former Duchess of Cornwall, with a thorough analysis of over 1,000 organisations across the country.

HM The Queen began her role as the first official patron of the charity in 2011, as HRH The Duchess of Cornwall.

During a three-day tour of Cornwall in July 2012, Camilla officially opened the charity’s new operations facility and charity headquarters. During her visit she met with aircrew, airlifted patients, volunteers, charity staff, trustees and local dignitaries.

Her Majesty visited Cornwall Air Ambulance again in July 2015 when she cut the turf for the new fundraising and volunteering centre, and again in 2020 for the official naming ceremony of the charity’s AW169 helicopter, which is named The Duchess of Cornwall. In June 2022 she visited the Cornwall Air Ambulance stand at the Royal Cornwall Show.

Tim Bunting, Chief Executive at Cornwall Air Ambulance, said:

“It is a real honour for the charity to have Royal representation in this way. Her Majesty has always shown great interest in our lifesaving work, and we are incredibly appreciative of her continued support.”

We look forward to the next opportunity to welcome Her Majesty The Queen to Cornwall Air Ambulance.
