Leave a lifesaving legacy to Cornwall Air Ambulance this Make a Will Week

Cornwall Air Ambulance is proud to be supporting Make a Will Week and raising awareness of how you can leave a lasting legacy to save lives.

Making a Will is one of the most important steps you can take to protect the people and causes you care about. If you need to write your Will, or update it following a big life event, now is a great time to do that – during Make a Will Week from 9^th-15^th September.

During the seven days, six solicitors from across Cornwall are offering an exclusive Will writing service where all the proceeds will go directly to Cornwall Air Ambulance. That means that for the cost of £100 for a single Will, or £150 for ‘mirror’ Wills, you can take care of your loved ones as well as donating to your local lifesaving charity at the same time.

Gifts left to Cornwall Air Ambulance in Wills make a lifesaving difference to our service, with one in three of our missions across Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly being funded in this way. With your crew being tasked to over 1,000 emergency incidents every year, gifts left in Wills account for over 350 of those missions and potential lives saved.

John Davey left a gift in his Will to Cornwall Air Ambulance, after being airlifted by the charity. His grandaughter, Michelle Michell, said: “The extra time that Cornwall Air Ambulance enabled him to have meant he was able to live an extra three years afterwards. I didn’t know he’d left money, and when I found out my first thought was ‘wow, what a really generous gift’, to know that it will help so many people, I feel really proud.”

Debbie Henshaw, Head of Strategic Giving, added: “Legacy donations are a vital source of funding for your charity, making up approximately 30% of the funds needed to keep providing our lifesaving service. We are incredibly grateful to everyone who chooses to support us in this way, as leaving a gift to Cornwall Air Ambulance in your Will, no matter the size, really does make a lifesaving difference. Your generosity ensures that we can continue to provide critical care to those who need it most, securing the futures of generations to come.”
