Paramedics respond to incident at Wharfside Shopping Centre

Cornwall Air Ambulance was called into action last night following reports that a man had fallen from Wharfside Shopping Centre in Penzance.

The crew on board the helicopter landed at Wharfside Car Park just after 7.30pm, a second crew in the charity’s critical care car also attended the incident on Thursday 29 August.

Critical care paramedics treated the patient on scene and assisted him in a land ambulance to hospital in Truro. He was immediately transferred to the Search and Rescue helicopter, alongside the critical care team from Cornwall Air Ambulance, and transferred to Derriford Hospital in Plymouth.

Each year, Cornwall Air Ambulance flies around 800 missions throughout Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. As a charity it relies on donations to carry out this lifesaving work. You can find out more about the work of the air ambulance and how to give your support here.
