Cornwall Air Ambulance is excited to announce its very own alternative triathlon for 2023.

The charity is replacing the traditional bike leg of the event with paddleboarding instead, to form the Swim-SUP-Run challenge.

Taking place on 23rd April at Siblyback Lake, Liskeard, the triathlon will start with a 750m lake swim. Once completed and after a quick transition, you’ll pick up your SUP and jump aboard for a 1.5km paddle before returning to the transition area. Here you’ll leave your board and get your trainers on for the final leg, a 5km loop around the lake.

All the money raised will go towards funding our critical care missions and helping to save more lives across Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.

Rob Foster, Fundraising Officer for Events and Challenges at Cornwall Air Ambulance, said: “We’re very excited to be launching a new event in the Cornwall Air Ambulance calendar this year, which is kindly sponsored by Ann’s Cottage. The triathlon is suitable for all skill levels, novice or seasoned triathlete, so make sure you grab your board, bring your energy and race to victory this April. Please sign up and join us for what is set to be a great day, which will help us raise vital funds to keep your helicopter flying.”

There are 150 places available and early booking is advised.

You can sign up and find everything you need to know here.
