Camel Valley’s donations to Cornwall Air Ambulance has topped the £20,000 mark this year. The Bodmin-based winery has supported the charity for more than 8 years raising vital funds for the lifesaving charity from their popular vineyard tours.
This year the company donated £2,590, helping them to reach the significant milestone, which equates to funding the fuel for 100 missions. A surplus of £1,590 has been donated to the charity’s New Heli Appeal.
Bob Lindo, owner of Camel Valley Vineyard, said: “My daughter Esther was taken to Treliske in the Cornwall Air Ambulance and it’s great to think that we have paid for the fuel for 100 rescues. Even better there’s some leftover which can go towards the new helicopter!”
Steph Preston-Evans, Corporate Fundraiser at Cornwall Air Ambulance, said: “As a charity, Cornwall Air Ambulance relies on donations to keep flying and saving lives. We are incredibly grateful to Camel Valley for their continued support over the year and it’s due to their dedication that they’ve surpassed the £20,000 mark.
“It is support like theirs that enables our air crew to carry out more than 800 lifesaving missions each year.”
