Latitude50 partners with Cornwall Air Ambulance

Latitude50 has partnered with Cornwall Air Ambulance to become a Tourism Business Supporter raising funds for the New Heli Appeal.

The holiday letting company, that offers quality, self-catering accommodation on the North Cornwall coast, will highlight the value and importance of the lifesaving charity to their guests and property owners.

Jill Landeryou, Owner Latitude50, said: “We’re really excited to be part of the mission to bring the next generation air ambulance to Cornwall. Following our achievements at both the Cornwall Tourism Awards and the South West Tourism Awards, we really wanted to share this success and look at ways that we could give back to the community in a relevant way.

“When we heard about the lack of support the Cornwall Air Ambulance receives from the tourism industry, despite 20% of call outs relating to visitors to the county, we wanted to do out bit to turn this around. The parallels between Latitude50 and the Cornwall Air Ambulance are evident as many rescues happen on the North Cornish coast where we operate. We want to help ensure that our employees, property owners and guests receive the best possible medical care if an incident should happen.

“We will be donating £1 for every booking we take in 2019 and will be asking our guests to join us. We are also looking at various ways for our property owners to be involved too. We plan to combine these donations into one sum to donate at the end of the year.”

Steph Preston-Evans, Corporate Fundraising Officer for Cornwall Air Ambulance, said: “Having Latitude50 as a Tourism Business Supporter is fantastic. Not only are they helping to spread the message about the New Heli Appeal to visitors to Cornwall, but their contribution will also take us closer to buying a next generation air ambulance helicopter by 1 April 2020.”
