St Ewe Eggs raise £17,800 and set two Guinness World Records

St Ewe Free Range Eggs have raised £17,800 for Cornwall Air Ambulance and set two Guinness World Records through The Great Cornish Egg & Spoon Race.

Two teams walked all 300 miles of the Cornish coast path with the aim of raising money for two charities, Hospitality Action and Cornwall Air Ambulance, whilst also achieving two world records.

The challenge was inspired following the events of the past three years with Covid-19, Brexit and the ongoing cost-of-living crisis wreaking untold havoc on the farming, food production, hospitality and tourism sectors.

Taking place between the 3rd and 7th of July, the two teams successfully raced to the finish line at Land’s End and completed the challenge.

It was announced at the Rock Oyster Festival on 30th July that both teams had officially smashed the Guinness World Record for the greatest distance to carry an egg in one week.

Julia Jeffery, Corporate Fundraising Officer at Cornwall Air Ambulance, said: “This was such a fantastic experience to be part of, and we are so grateful that St Ewe Eggs chose to support Cornwall Air Ambulance through their impressive World Record attempt. With one in five of our missions being to help visitors to the area, we work closely with local businesses within the hospitality and tourism sector to raise awareness of our vital work.

“Thank you so much to everyone who supported the event and donated towards it. Every pound raised will go towards keeping your helicopter flying and helping over 1,000 patients across Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly every year.”
