Get inspired for your own event

Organising your own event or fundraiser can be daunting at first, but it’s worth remembering that your efforts will have a significant impact on your community and people across Cornwall & the Isles of Scilly.

Below we’ve compiled a list of charity event ideas to get your started if you’re struggling to think of what you’d like to do for your event.

Pasty bake-off

Challenge locals to showcase their pasty-making skills in a friendly bake-off competition. Participants can enjoy delicious treats while raising funds through the sale of their pasties – extra points for creativity!

Our pasty bake-off tip:

Partner with local bakeries for judging, offer themed prizes and invite your community to come sample some pasties.

Art by the sea auction

Gather local artists to create and donate artworks for a seaside auction. Auction off unique pieces to support Cornwall Air Ambulance’s critical care services.

Our art auction tip:

Showcase artist profiles, host the auction in a scenic location and create a vibrant atmosphere with refreshments & music.

Charity car wash

Set up a charity car wash in a high-traffic area. Encourage volunteers to clean cars in exchange for donations, all while raising funds for critical care.

Our car wash tip:

Use eco-friendly cleaning products, promote the event’s dual benefit and ensure that you get the permission of landowners to run the event.

Quiz night extravaganza

Organise a trivia quiz night at a local venue. Teams compete for the title of trivia champion while raising funds for Cornwall Air Ambulance.

Our quiz night tip:

Prepare diverse quiz rounds, offer themed prizes and create a friendly and fun atmosphere. Quiz Nights can be in-person, if you can find a venue, or held online to increase the amount of people you can host!

Sports day

Arrange a family-friendly sports day with classic games and challenges. Participants can have fun and raise funds for a crucial cause.

Our sports day tip:

Design varied game stations, involve local sports clubs and try your best to factor in the weather forecast!

Charity plant swap

Host a plant exchange event where people can bring and swap or buy plants from their gardens.

Our plant swap tip:

Emphasise the community aspect, offer gardening tips and provide donation stations for those without plants to swap.

Karaoke night

Host a karaoke night at a local venue, where participants can sing their hearts out for a good cause.

Our karaoke night tip:

Offer prizes for the most enthusiastic performers, promote the event as a fun night out and collaborate with a local venue to facilitate the evening.

Community dog walk or meet

Organise a group dog walk in a park or along the beach, with participants donating a small fee to join. Create the opportunity for local dog owners to meet other owners!

Our dog walk tip:

Emphasise the pet-friendly aspect, provide water stations for dogs and capture adorable pet moments for social media.
