Cornwall Air Ambulance opens new superstore in Bodmin

Cornwall Air Ambulance has opened a new charity superstore in Bodmin.

The store was officially opened by CAAT mascot Aircrew Andy and young supporter Jayden at 11am on Saturday 26 June.

The two-level store, located on Fore Street, is selling quality donated items ranging from clothing and homeware, to furniture and electrical items.

It is the seventh and biggest store for Cornwall Air Ambulance, which already has shops open in St Austell, Newquay, Truro, Wadebridge, Camborne and Helston.

Joe Harriss, Retail Area Manager for Cornwall Air Ambulance, said: “We have had a very busy few days in Bodmin since we opened the doors. This is the first time we have had a store in Bodmin, so it’s fantastic to have support from the community. We are really pleased to not only see all our stores reopen following the pandemic, but also be able to add to our offering. Everyone who shops in our stores and donates items for the charity to sell are all playing a part in keeping the helicopter flying.”

In a first for the charity, the store will have a community space ‘HeliHub’, to give shoppers, supporters and community groups a place to meet.
