We rely solely on the support of donors from Cornwall and beyond to run your charity
Cornwall Air Ambulance attends an average of three missions each day, bringing vital emergency medical treatment to patients in their hour of need across Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.
It costs over £6m to run the charity each year. With no direct Government funding towards running costs, it’s people like you that keep your helicopter flying.
Where does our support come from?
- 31% Gifts left in wills
- 26% Donations, events & more
- 24% Lottery players
- 16% Charity shops
- 3% Grants
What do your donations pay for?
Around 60% of the missions are in response to medical incidents and the remainder are due to severe traumatic injuries, such as falls from height and road traffic collisions. One in four missions are to patients suffering cardiac arrest, while one in ten are to help children.
Your donations and support help fund the running costs of our AW169 helicopter and Rapid Response Vehicles (RRV’s), as well as the specialist equipment that helps us operate around the clock. The helicopter and crew can fly in darkness using a specialist Synthetic Vision System, powerful searchlights and advanced mapping systems. The AW169 has some of the most advanced navigation capabilities in the industry.

A message from Richard Madeley & Judy Finnigan
“The charity has a huge impact on communities across Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. Its next generation helicopter allows Cornwall Air Ambulance to reach more people in urgent need of lifesaving help more quickly, but also provides its crew of paramedics and doctors with the equipment they need to deliver an exceptional level of pre-hospital care. We would urge everyone to give their support to Cornwall Air Ambulance to help save more lives.”
