Give your time to help our lifesaving mission
How can I volunteer?
Help out at a charity shop
Our charity shops
Our charity shops are a hive of activity, perfect for socialising. Volunteers sort and price donated goods, create window displays and serve customers in our shops in Truro, Camborne, Helston, Newquay, St Austell and Wadebridge.
Investing in volunteers
Proud to be investing in our volunteers' success
Volunteers truly are the heartbeat of the charity and we work hard to provide you with an environment in which you can thrive, tailoring your role to suit your skills, availability and needs to help you reach your goals. Cornwall Air Ambulance Trust is proud to be an Investing in Volunteers (IiV) achiever, having been awarded the quality mark/standard in 2022 for the second time.
Investing in Volunteers is unique in that it is the only standard that focuses on volunteers. It is based on the following six quality areas:
- Vision for volunteering
- Planning for volunteers
- Volunteer inclusion
- Recruiting and welcoming volunteers
- Supporting volunteers
- Valuing and developing volunteers
Get involved at events
Man a stall or dress up at an exciting event
Cornwall Air Ambulance is supported by so many events throughout the county. Volunteers represent the charity at them by manning a stall, selling raffle tickets, guiding the car parking or even dressing up as the charity mascot Aircrew Andy! It’s a great way to meet people and enjoy the best of Cornwall’s events.
Provide support at our airbase HQ
Play a vital role in our office headquarters
There are many opportunities to help at the Newquay airbase with plenty of opportunities to see the air ambulance.
Reception is run by volunteers and this varied role includes answering phones, welcoming visitors and computer work.
The fundraising office is always seeking extra help with telephone liaison, computer research and straightforward database work.
Volunteers are vital to collecting and counting the funds raised in the jars sitting on counters throughout the county – a great reason to get out and about.
Become a Cornwall Air Ambulance ambassador
Represent our cause in your community
Volunteers frequently represent the charity by speaking to community groups, schools and clubs, and attending cheque presentations. It’s a rewarding way to be involved.
