Cornwall Air Ambulance flies to report of man sufferng burns

Cornwall Air Ambulance was called into action following reports that a man had suffered burns to his arms and head in the Camborne area.

Following a 999 call for help at 10.53am on Monday 23 January, the pilot and paramedics aboard the charity’s helicopter made the short trip from their Newquay airbase to the Camborne area in just a few minutes.

On arrival, the air ambulance paramedics assessed and treated the man’s injuries which were severe enough to require hospital treatment.

The patient was taken aboard the air ambulance and flown to Derriford Hospital in Plymouth where he was handed into the care of medical staff.

The Cornwall Air Ambulance pilot and paramedics then returned to Newquay airbase.

Each year, Cornwall Air Ambulance carries out around 700 missions throughout Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. As a charity it relies on donations to carry out this lifesaving work. You can find out more about the work of the air ambulance and how to give your support here.
