The opposition side, Thames Valley Air Ambulance FC (TVAA FC), was formed in 2017 to raise money in memory of four-year-old Barnaby, who sadly lost his life following a tragic incident in Thame, Oxfordshire.
Six years later and TVAA FC are still playing charity football matches, along with other activities and have raised over £40,000 for Thames Valley Air Ambulance, who give everybody in our community of Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire and Berkshire the best chance of surviving and recovering from an emergency.
Manager Stuart Gibson, said: “We are so pleased to be heading back to the Southwest again to play a rematch with our good friends at the Cornwall Air Ambulance, last year we made real statement of intent with the first ever All Air Ambulance football match and we really hope that we can create between us a lasting legacy of fundraising through football” “We have some big ideas with our colleagues at CAAT to make this an annual ongoing event and involve even more Air Ambulances, so watch this space as they say! “Enjoy the game and Thank You for your support”
If you can’t attend the game, please consider supporting the charities with a donation on their JustGiving pages.
Funds raised from the match will help the crews be with patients in their moment of need, helping to save lives.

For many of Cornwall Air Ambulance FC, stepping out onto the pitch will be an emotional and inspiring day. If it wasn’t for the intervention of Cornwall Air Ambulance, they might not have been able to.
This game goes beyond a simple kick about, but represents each airlifted player showing their support to the charity that saved them.
Just one of those players is Goalkeeper Scott Halliday, who was badly injured in a fire in St Ives in August 2020. The 33-year-old was working at a harbour front restaurant when he was engulfed in flames after a deep fat fryer exploded.
