Top 30 advisory firm, Bishop Fleming, is the official title sponsor for Cornwall Air Ambulance’s annual 10km run. The Runway Runaround will take place on 3 November at Newquay Airport, on the runway.
The firm, which delivers audit, accounting, tax and advisory services, are supporting one of the largest, unique fundraising events in Cornwall as part of their centenary celebrations.
Bishop Fleming has committed to raise £100,000 throughout the year to mark its milestone. The money raised will be split across several regional charities, supported by its seven regional offices.
The Runaway Runaround is a fantastic opportunity for the firm to continue its centenary fundraising campaign, whilst binding the relationship between staff, clients and the community.
The 10km run will see runners set off just after the early morning Heathrow flight has departed, they will then run past the Cornwall Air Ambulance helipad and return ‘landside’ before the next flight arrives, later in the day.
The firm has been in partnership with Cornwall Air Ambulance for over two years, and last year raised £6,761 for the charity by taking part in a range of activities from quiz nights and sponsorship.
Its centenary celebrations have seen the firm become an official gold partner of the Cornwall Air Ambulance New Heli Appeal, which aims to bring a new air ambulance helicopter to Cornwall by 1 April 2020.
Two Bishop Fleming Truro staff members have recently raised over £2,000 for Cornwall Air Ambulance after completing the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge over the May Bank Holiday.
Staff and clients alike will participate in the 10km run to boost their fundraising pot.
Alison Oliver, partner at Bishop Fleming, said: “We are delighted to be title sponsor of this year’s Cornwall Air Ambulance Runway Runaround in our centenary year. It was a great event in 2018, with this year set to be bigger and better than ever before. We aim to bring a large corporate team to the event to help raise a significant amount towards the new helicopter for 2020.
“It is a pleasure to raise money for such a worthwhile and vital cause across our county and we look forward to supporting them with this unique event.”
